All of creation is under a curse and subject to constant evil which leads to suffering and death. But Jesus has won a monumental victory over Satan, sin, suffering and eternal death, and followers of Christ can live boldly and rejoice in knowing that they have eternal life and freedom from the antagonists of God.

Sin promises freedom and fulfillment if I will reject God’s limiting commands and design, but this always produces deadly results rather than life, freedom, and flourishing.

In the fall, humans broke God’s covenant and fell under the curse, but God promised to redeem humans from the curse through the coming Seed of the woman.
Genesis 3:14–19
In the midst of the wreckage of the Fall, God gave a promise that Jesus would come to redeem and rescue us.

The great dilemma in the Christmas story surrounds the problem of sin, which produces our exile from God, His purposes, and His blessing.

Longing for acceptance we have fallen captive to shame and fear – which condemns us to relationships of isolation and apathy. Now our rescue can only be found in perfect integrity.
