The National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer happens on the first Thursday in May each year. This means that tomorrow, May 2, is the date for the National Day of Prayer in 2024. I want to encourage everyone in BRCC to make an effort to participate in the Day of Prayer. There are two main ways to do this.

First, if possible, please come to the National Day of Prayer event at Lawyers Mall behind the Statehouse. The event will be from 6:30 to around 8 PM, and there is free parking nearby at the Calvert Street garage. Since Annapolis is the state capitol, we have the privilege of hosting the main gathering for the state for the National Day of Prayer. Many leaders of local churches have been growing in times of prayer together over the last 2 years. We decided that we believe the Lord is calling us to gather congregations together for this event. I hope many of us in BRCC will make it.

Second, if it is not possible for you to make it to the official event, please take time to pray for our nation. God tells us to pray for the leaders over us (1 Timothy 2:1-2), and to pray for the land of our exile (Jeremiah 29:7). This means that American Christians are called to pray for America. Please make it a priority to do this tomorrow.
