Good Friday

This week marks the end of Lent. On Friday, Christians around the world will observe Good Friday, remembering the death of Jesus for our sins. I use the word “observe” rather than celebrate as we normally speak of Christmas, Easter, Pentecost, and other major days of the Christian year because Good Friday is not really a celebration. On it, we take time to fast, confess our sins, and remember the awesome price paid for our redemption – the death of Jesus Christ.

I encourage everyone to take extra time this Friday to think about Jesus’ death for our sins, and the forgiveness and salvation we have because of all He did for us on that day almost 2,000 years ago. If possible, I also encourage everyone to come to our Good Friday worship gathering. We will meet on Friday, March 29, at BRCC at 7 PM. It will be a combined worship gathering with BRCC, CrossPointe Church in Arnold, and Living Hope Church from Bowie. It is certainly a more somber time of worship through song, prayer, Scripture reading, a teaching related to Christ’s atoning death, and coming to the Lord’s Table to give thanks, but it is a great way to remember Christ’s work in our behalf. I hope you will make it. And then we can come together for a real celebration on Easter Sunday.

In Christ,

Bret
