Many of us think that human trafficking does not happen today. Or if it does, it happens in some dark corner in the third world. Certainly it does not happen around us. It could not happen to our children. Sadly, that is simply false. We need to be aware of the danger, and we also need to work to protect our children and to restore those who have been trapped in this vile, viscous practice, and to prosecute those perpetrating this crime (both those acting as ‘pimps’ and also those procuring the services of trafficked women and children.)
